Work shop on World University Rankings

PRESS NOTE

 

The TSCHE organised One day workshop on May 17, 2018 for all Universities in the State of Telangana in association with Times Higher Education – World University Rankings. Shri. Harpreet Singh, Principal Secretary to Governor of A.P & T.S, Sri. Navin Mittal, IAS, Commissioner of Collegiate and Technical Education were present for the Inaugural session. The following Speakers made the presentations on this occasion.

 

Shri. Harpreet Singh spoke about the outstanding students who have passed out of the Indian Higher Education system and advised the Vice Chancellors’ to promote quality education and also ensure international presence. He further suggested that the Universities must highlight regional centric and relevant research.

 

Shri. Navin Mittal, explained the activities and plans being pursued under RUSA and the need to streamline the course structure, methodology and grading systems in the field of Higher Education keeping in view the global practices.

In the morning session

 

  • Data Masterclass focused on the Times Higher Education - World University Rankings, methodology behind it, universities participation as well as share insights on the performance of Indian Higher Education Institutes in relation to Asian and Global Universities in the World University Rankings.

  • Reputation Masterclass focused on Internationalization and sharing best practices by top global higher education institutes in building a global brand and attracting international students and faculty.

The Vice Chancellors of Universities in the State of Telangana highlighted their experiences with reference to the Accreditation process. The Participants raised some questions regarding the Best Practices to be followed in the Accreditation process.

 

In the Valedictory session, Mr. Donald Mulligan, Chief of the Consular Section, U.S. Consulate, Hyderabad graced the occasion and an interactive session with all the Vice-Chancellors’ regarding the best practices was held in which the Accreditation process, systems and methodology were discussed. He also ensured all support and co-operation to TSCHE in all the Academic Activities.

 

The Vice Chancellors’, Senior Academic Directors and Administrators from all Universities in the State of Telangana participated in the Workshop.
